Academic Reading Log is a Chrome extension that helps researchers track academic papers. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. All data you enter remains in your Google account.
Google Drive Access (drive.file scope): Required to create and save your reading log spreadsheet. We only access files that we create for you (the “Academic Reading Log” spreadsheet). We never access, view, or modify any other files in your Google Drive.
Active Tab: Required to extract paper metadata (title, authors, DOI, etc.) from the webpage you’re currently viewing.
Since we don’t collect or store your data, there is no central database to breach. Your data security depends on your Google account security. We recommend using strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date.
